Joshna Chinappa went down fighting against Camille Serme in the quarter-final of the women’s world squash championship at El Gouna, Egypt on Wednesday night.
Chinappa, the 12th seed, lost 6-11, 12-10, 7-11, 11-8, 3-11 to the second seed in a 70-minute marathon match, reported PTI.
The momentum kept shifting as Chinappa fought against her more experienced rival, eventually forcing a decider. The French player hit several winners to unsettle Joshna early but the Indian fought back each time and withstood the aggression for most part.
