Indian squash player Joshna Chinappa beat eighth seed Alison Waters from England 11-5, 7-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-9 in the second round of the Professional Squash Association Women’s World Championship in Egypt on Monday.
The 12th seed made a stupendous comeback after going down by two games to force a decider. She kept her cool to beat her higher-seeded opponent after 66 minutes and enter the quarter-finals.
Chinappa had earlier beaten Japanese qualifier Misaki Kobayashi 13-11, 11-8, 12-10 in the first round. She will meet either England’s Emily Whitlock or the second-seeded Camille Serme from France in the quarters.
