Kolkata Knight Riders’ Chris Lynn’s injury status continues to be in doubt, a day after the big-hitting Australian batsman hurt his left-shoulder while diving for a catch during his side’s match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday.
“Chris Lynn has undergone an MRI scan on his left shoulder. Reports are awaited. We will get to know in a day or two,” said a Kolkata Knight Riders spokesperson.
The Australian batsman took the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League by storm with a swashbuckling unbeaten 41-ball 93 in Kolkata’s first match against Gujarat Lions on April 7. He followed it up with a 24-ball 32 against Mumbai.
After falling awkwardly while diving for a catch, Lynn immediately gestured to the physio and was eventually taken off the field and was seen strapped up in the dressing room.
This is not the first time that Lynn has suffered an injury during the IPL. Last season he had missed the first half of the competition after dislocating his shoulder and even missed a part of the Big Bash League following a neck problem.
