The Indian men’s team started their campaign at the International Table Tennis Federation Asian Championships in Wuxi on Sunday on a good day, recording 3-0 wins over Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan in Group 2.
Soumyajit Ghosh, Sanil Shetty and Abdul Rahim comprehensively defeated Pakistan’s players in their three games in the first match against Pakistan. Then Sharath Kamal, Harmeet Desai and Shetty completed another 3-0 win over Kyrgyzstan.
India’s women’s team also beat Uzbekistan and Maldives with a similar scoreline. Mouma Das, Madhurika Patkar and Pooja Sahasrabudhe beat Maldives’ players 3-0 while Patkar, Monika Batra and Sutirtha Mukherjee had the same scoreline against Uzbekistan’s players.
