The Indian national women’s team went down 1-7 to Uzbekistan in the third match of their 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualification campaign at Pyongyang on Friday. This is their third loss in the campaign after they lost 10-0 to South Korea and 8-0 to North Korea.
After two battering losses, India were never in the contest as Uzbekistan’s Karachik Lyudmila scored twice in the first ten minutes and Sarikova Makhliyo scored in the tenth minute. Zoirova Umida scored in the 19th minute and India were four goals down after just 20 minutes.
Bala Devi provided something to cheer for with a 22nd minute goal and India tightened up a little after that, conceding just once after that to go into the half-time break 1-5 down.
Narbekova Lianna and Turdiboeva Feruza added two more goals after the break to consign India to a 7-1 loss. Their next and last match will be against Hong Kong on April 11.
