The qualification campaign for the 2018 AFC Asian Cup continued in a sedate fashion for the Blue Tigresses as they were humbled 10-0 by the South Korean women in Pyongyang on Wednesday.
After a 8-0 defeat to North Korea in their opening match, the women needed to bounce back strongly but found themselves up against some strong opposition as the South Koreans took an early lead in the 12th minute through Kang Yumi.
By half-time, the Indian eves were trailing by five goals as Lee Geummin struck two quickfire goals. The Indian ladies played better for a twenty-minutes after the restart keeping the marauding Koreans at bay.
They then struck four goals in five minutes as Geummin completed her hat-trick as eight different Koreans got on the scoresheet. Ji Soyun rounded off the scoring in injury time as the match drew to a close.
