Fine knocks by Dinesh Karthik and Narayan Jagadeesan helped Tamil Nadu thrash India A by 73 runs to book a place in the final of the Deodhar Trophy in Visakhapatnam on Monday.
Karthik (93) and Jagadeesan (71) shared a stand of 159 runs for the third wicket as Tamil Nadu posted 303/6. India A skipper Harbhajan Singh failed to impress once again leaking 57 runs in his eight over that saw him pick up a solitary wicket.
In reply, India A failed to keep pace with the run-rate needed to chase the 300-plus score. Mandeep Singh scored 97 and shared 72-run partnership with Krunal Pandya to raise hopes of victory, Pandya’s departure on 36, however, halted their charge as they eventually folded for 230.
