An Islamic organisation that works to promote peace and communal harmony has asked the Centre to pass a resolution declaring Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan parts of India. “The government should bring in a resolution this Parliament session and unanimously pass it, reiterating its stand that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, including PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan,” Anjuman Minhaj-e-Rasool chief Moulana Syed Athar Hussain Dehlavi told PTI on Sunday.

Urging the government to reiterate its 1994 Parliament declaration, the cleric said the move would foil Pakistan’s plan of annexing these regions. On February 22, 1994, Parliament had declared Jammu and Kashmir an integral part of India and asked Pakistan to vacate these regions.

Dehalvi also accused Pakistan of instigating Kashmiri youth to take up arms, calling for India to declare its neighbouring country a terrorist state. “Pakistan, which is the biggest launchpad of terrorism, should be declared a terrorist state. There is no need to hold talks with Pakistan,” he said.
