Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Ram Jethmalani on Saturday was admitted to a private hospital in Kochi after he complained of uneasiness, The Hindu reported. Jethmalani was in the city to attend a felicitation event organised by a group of lawyers. Hospital officials said his condition was stable now.
He is in the hospital’s intensive care unit for 24-hour observation, officials said.
The prominent lawyer, known for his representation in high-profile cases, was expelled from the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2013 for criticising the leadership. In 2015, he had made a dramatic declaration on Twitter telling Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “My diminishing respect for you ends now.”
