Pacer Mohammed Shami has joined Indian cricket team in Dharamshala and in all probability could play the fourth Test against Australia starting from March 25.
The Bengal cricketer on Wednesday shared a picture from Dharamshala, the venue for the final Test in the ongoing four-match series currently tied at 1-1.
Skipper Virat Kohli had hinted after the third Test that Shami could be in the reckoning for a spot in the playing XI for the final Test. There is a possibility that India could go in with five bowlers for the contest, including three pacers and two spinners.
Kohli had admitted that the team management had plans for Shami after sending him to play the final of the Vijay Hazare trophy final. Shami bagged four wickets but could not save Bengal from defeat at the hands of Tamil Nadu.
“We sent him to play, wanted to give him match practice, Kohli had informed. “I’ve not spoken to selectors but all kinds of possibilities are there approaching the next Test,” he added.
Shami last played for India in November. He has since been sidelined after picking up a knee injury during the third Test against England.
