Former world No 2 Petra Kvitova, who was injured during a robbery attempt at her home in December 2016, gave an update about her physical condition through her official Instagram account on Tuesday.
The two-time Wimbledon champion posted, “Hi guys! I wanted to say hello, since time is flying by - three whole months already since the attack - and let you know that I’m working really hard on my recovery.” The 27-year-old, however, went on to add that she hasn’t set any particular date or tournament for her comeback, but that she was looking forward to rejoining the WTA Tour. “I still can’t tell you when I will be back, but I can tell you that tennis is a huge motivation for me and I realised while I’ve been away how much I like challenges!”
Kvitova, a southpaw, sustained knife injuries to her left hand. She underwent surgeries immediately and had confirmed that she would be missing the first half of the 2017 season.
