A man of Indian origin was arrested near London in the United Kingdom on Sunday for allegedly killing a one-year-old boy and attacking his twin sister reported NDTV. The arrest was made after a manhunt launched by Scotland Yard. The girl is in critical condition.
The incident took place in north London’s Finsbury park area on Saturday night. Bidhya Sagar Das was arrested from London borough of Hackney, around 6 km from the crime scene. Though investigators have yet to reveal the details about the case, the police said, “The incident is believed to be domestic.”
According to reports, Das lived in the same apartment as the children and their mother. A neighbor said the mother of the children rushed out of the house at 11pm on Saturday screaming, “My children, my children.” When police officers reached the apartment, the boy was already dead. He was attacked by a hammer. The police said Das was in the house when the incident took place, but he left before police security officers and medical teams arrived.
