India’s Sania Mirza and her doubles partner Barbora Strycova of Czech Republic entered the second round of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells on Thursday.
The fourth seeds dispatched the German-Latvian duo of Julia Goerges and Jelena Ostapenko 6-3, 6-4 in a match that lasted an hour and 15 minutes. Mirza and Strycova will face Italy’s Sara Errani and Alicja Rosolka of Poland next.
In the men’s doubles draw, India’s Rohan Bopanna and partner Pablo Cuevas will take on the Serbian duo of Novak Djokovic and Viktor Troicki on Friday. Leander Paes has teamed up with Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Porto. The duo will begin their campaign against Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller and American Sam Querrey.
