India women destroyed Belarus 3-1 to complete a 5-0 whitewash over Belarus in the final match of their series in Bhopal on Wednesday.
Goals from Vandana Katariya, Gurjit Kaur and Rani Rampal ensured yet another easy win for India and more struggle for Belarus. Their only goal came in the 52nd minute, thanks to a splendid strike by Yuliya Mikheichyk.
Captained by striker Rani Rampal, India scored the first goal within six minutes with Katariya finding the back of the net. Kaur then successfully converted a penalty corner to double the lead in the 15th minute against a depleted Belarus defence.
In the 52nd minute, Mikheichyk struck a stinging penalty corner to give Belarus their lone goal. Not to be outdone, captain Rani struck in the 55th minute with a stunning penalty corner of her own to give India the 3-1 win.
