Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been handed a three-match suspension by the Football Association for elbowing Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings during a Premier League tie on Saturday.
The Swede will miss United’s FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea as well as Premier League games against Middlesbrough and West Brom.
The duo were involved in a bust-up during the 1-1 draw between the two sides. Mings had landed on Ibrahimovic’s head with his studs. Moments later, Ibrahimovic caught Mings in the face with his elbow from the corner.
Mings was also charged with violent conduct by the FA. Bournemouth have reportedly said they will appeal the charge levelled against the defender.
