Peshawar Zalmi beat Quetta Gladiators by 58 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to win the Pakistan Super League title on Sunday. The Gladiators won the toss and opted to field first. Kamran Akmal top-scored with 40 for Peshawar as they reached 148 in 20 overs. All their batsmen had solid starts, but they failed to convert them into a big score. However, West Indies cricketer Darren Sammy smashed a quick-fire 28 of 11 balls, which included three towering sixes.
Needing 149 to win, the Gladiators had a horrendous start, losing the three wickets for 13 runs. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 90. Mohammad Asghar was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/16. Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz took two wickets apiece as Mohammad Hafeez and Chris Jordan claimed a wicket each to complete the rout.
