India women put in another fine display to register a comeback win against Belarus, winning 3-1 on the back of a terrific display from skipper Rani Rampal in Bhopal on Sunday. With the win, India took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match Test series.
It was the visitors who took the lead in the game. Belarus captain Ryta Batura made no mistake from a penalty corner in the 24th minute of the game. India came back fighting in the third quarter with Rampal scoring two field goals in the space of four minutes.
India added one more before the final quarter, with Deepika giving her side a two-goal cushion. The Indian defenders were staunch in the final quarter, and stemmed the flow of Belarus attacks to see out the win.
Brief scores:
- India 3 (Rani Rampal x 2, Deepika) beat Belarus 1 (Ryta Batura)
