Air India on Saturday said it has completed an around-the-world flight from New Delhi to San Francisco with an all female crew on Saturday. The national carrier said its flight was a world record ahead of International Women’s day celebrations.
The airline has applied for an entry in the Guinness World Record book, BBC reported.
Captains Sunita Narula, Kshamta Bajpai, Indira Singh and Gunjan Aggarwal piloted the Boeing 777 flight and the all-women cabin crew was led by Seema Baberwal and Nishrin Bandulwala. The flight was operated by the women staff of eight departments, including check-in staff, medical, customer care staff, air traffic control and the entire ground operations from technicians, engineers to flight dispatchers and trimmers.
The operation included a line operation safety audit conducted by Harpreet Singh, a first for a female officer on a round-the-world trip.
