Rohan Bopanna and partner Marcin Matkowski of Poland lost 6-4, 3-6, 3-10 to Dutch-Romanian pair of Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau in the doubles final of the Dubai Duty Free Championships on Saturday.
Bopanna, who was playing in only his second final of the season, got off to a fine start in the opening set. Matkowski and Bopanna took the break with relative ease to clinch the set in the tenth game.
Rojer and Tecau came back strongly in the second, pushing the Indo-Polish pair on the back foot. Rojer and Tecau rode on the momentum in the decider as the opposition failed to find breakthroughs.
This was the second final of the season for the 37-year-old Bopanna, who had won the Chennai Open with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan earlier this year.
