Former Miss India and Bollywood actor Sonu Walia on Friday lodged a complaint against an unknown person with the Mumbai Police after she received lewd phone calls and videos, reported Mumbai Mirror. A First Information Report against unknown persons has been registered on the basis of her complaint.
Walia said she started receiving the calls and messages last week, after which she had warned the caller. However, this person started sending more messages and called more frequently. She said the calls she received were from various numbers.
Walia said the calls stopped after she complained to the police. “The police were very supportive and helpful,” she told The Indian Express
In a separate case, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shaina NC also filed a complaint with the cyber crime cell in February alleging that an unknown person was sending her vulgar messages on her cellphone since December. She chose to ignore the messages through December and January, but approached the police when things went “from bad to worse”, Mumbai Mirror reported.
