England captain Eoin Morgan hit his 10th One-Day International century as his team beat West Indies by 45 runs in Antigua on Saturday. The tourists made 296 against the West Indies in the first fixture of a three-match series.
After West Indies won the toss and opted to field, England were struggling at 29/2 when Morgan walked into bat. He played a captain’s knock and stirred his side out of trouble. He was partnered well by Sam Billings and Ben Stokes, who scored 52 and 55 respectively.
In reply, West Indies were bowled out for 251 with Chris Woakes and Liam Plunkett grabbing four wickets apiece. The second match will take place on March 5 at the same venue.
Brief scores:
England 296/6 (Eoin Morgan 107, Ben Stokes 55) beat West Indies 251 (Liam Plunkett 4-40, Chris Woakes 4-47) by 45 runs.
