A civilian was killed and three others, including a Central Reserve Police Force staffer, injured during a grenade attack on a CRPF patrol at Muran chowk in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Friday, ANI reported. Security forces are on the look out for the perpetrators. The injured are being treated at a local hospital.
Several security personnel and civilians have been killed and injured in militant attacks and encounters in the past few months. On February 23, three Army personnel were killed and four others were injured after militants attacked their patrol group in Shopian. On February 14, at least three soldiers were killed and 15 security personnel were injured during an encounter with militants in Bandipora district. A militant was also killed during the encounter.
On February 12, two security personnel, four militants and a civilian were killed in an encounter in a village in the state’s Kulgam district. On February 11, Pakistan claimed that three of its soldiers were killed by Indian forces in cross-border firing across the Line of Control.
