The February 24 release Rangoon, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, has crash-landed at the box office. The trade is looking ahead to Logan and the sequel to Commando.
Commando 2 Vidyut Jammwal returns for the sequel to Commando: A One Man Army (2013). In the first film, Jammwal played an Indian Army commando who protects a woman from a lecherous villain. That movie starred Pooja Chopra¸ but Jammwal has a new heroine in the sequel (Adah Sharma), a new director (Deven Bhojani), and a new enemy (black money). Also starring Freddy Daruwala, Shefali Shah and Adil Hussain.
Logan The Wolverine sub-franchise within the X-Men franchise slashes its way to a bloody end. James Mangold (Walk the Line, Knight and Day) directs Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine, the mutant with retractable claws, enhanced powers and the brooding personality. Logan has semi-retired but a request for help for persecuted mutant Laura (Dafne Keen) draws him back into action despite his reluctance. Patrick Stewart plays Charles Xavier, the X-Men league founder, for the last time.
Patriots Day The 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, which killed three people and injured and permanently maimed hundreds of others, and the subsequent manhunt, is the subject of Peter Berg’s movie. Mark Wahlberg plays Tommy Saunders, who is part of the police team that hunts for the bomber brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai Keshhav Panneriy directs a star-crossed romance whose title is inspired by a line from the famous Raj Kapoor song Kisiki Muskurahaton Pe Ho Nisar. Himansh Koli and Manjari Phadnis plays the lovers, while Arbaaz Khan, Supriya Pathak, Ashutosh Rana, Rati Agnihotri and Prem Chopra complete the cast.
