Mumbai FC continued to labour in the I-League as Miverva Punjab nicked a point at the Cooperage Ground, where it finished 0-0 on Sunday.
Six defeats and three draws in the last nine games saw Santhosh Kashyap’s Mumbai struggle at the eighth place in the table. Minerva Punjab continued impress in their debut season, and held on to their sixth spot.
Mumbai enjoyed more of the ball but them not having a quality striker in their ranks yet again cost them. The home side looked dangerous when Thoi Singh surged forward with purpose. Unfortunately, most of Mumbai’s efforts did not hit the target. One of the few times they did, which was in the 10th minute of the game, the goal was ruled out by the linesman.
The trend continued in the second half: Mumbai showed promise in the build-up, only to fail to find a way past the Punjab defence in the area.
Brief score:
- Mumbai 0 draw with Minerva Punjab 0
