Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal will represent the International Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ Commission at the Badminton World Federation, reported PTI on Sunday. Nehwal was appointed a member of this panel in October last year.
The 26-year-old Olympic bronze medallist will join the BWF Athletes’ Commission as a representative of the IOC AC, the IOC announced in a communication to Nehwal.
The Olympic medallist recovered from career threatening knee injury at the Rio Olympics to win the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament in January. She is currently ranked 10th in the world rankings and will be participating in the All England Championships next month.
