A couple has separated after the husband, Aveek (Kunaal Kapoor), cheats on his wife Vani (Kritika Kamra). What’s left of their relationship are bittersweet memories and Aveek’s white shirt. Vani keeps calling Aveek to take the shirt back, but he procrastinates, since he has at least one reason to call her. Deftly written and directed by Sumit Aroraa, White Shirt establishes the power of everyday objects and actions to take on added meaning in a marriage. Meals are other occasions that both bind and separate the couple. The Large Short Films production is a showcase for Kamra’s expressive face and Surjodeep Ghosh’s suitably low-lit cinematography.
