Two German Air Force planes intercepted and escorted a Jet Airways aircraft with more than 300 passengers and 15 crew members on board after the latter went off the radar. The flight eventually restored communication and was able to land safely at the Heathrow Airport.
Jet Airways issued a statement on Sunday about the issue which took place on February 16. The video above shows the Jet Airways flight being escorted by two German fighter planes.
According to Aviation Herald, radio control was lost when the charge was being handed over from Slovakia to Prague. The website suspects a “swap of digits”, which means that the crew may have tuned into the wrong frequency.
Here’s a longer video of the incident.
