A group of unidentified men allegedly abducted a popular Malayam actor in Ernakulam, Kerala, on Friday night, The Indian Express reported. Her driver, Martin, has been arrested in connection with the case, while the police are on the look out for other accused.
A First Information Report has been registered at the Thrikkakkara Police station for molestation, abduction, and attempt to rape. Officials said the actor’s former driver, Sunil, is the prime suspect in the case.
The woman told police personnel that a group of men waylaid her vehicle at Athani in Angamaly, took photos of her while harassing her and fled the car when they reached Palarivattom, reported Manorama Online.
Kochi City Police Commissioner, Yatheesh Chandra, said the attack was planned almost two months ago. Chandra said Martin had prior information about the attack. “Martin knew that the attackers were following the actor’s vehicle.” The commissioner said said Aluv Deputy Superintendent of Police, Babu, is leading the investigation.
