Former India pacer S Sreesanth on Friday wrote to Vinod Rai, who heads the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, seeking permission to resume cricketing activities after four years away from the game, IANS reported.
The report cited sources as saying that the tainted speedster was upset with the treatment meted out to him by the previous BCCI leadership. He is said to have been peeved by the board’s decision to deny him a No Objection Certificate to play in the ongoing Scotland Cricket League.
In 2015, a Delhi court had acquitted Sreesanth, Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila in case of spot-fixing during the 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Sreesanth feels the exoneration by the court should pave the way for him to come back onto the field.
