Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif has been appointed the assistant coach of Indian Premier League side Gujarat Lions for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. Kaif will work alongside coach Brad Hodge, who took charge last year.
This will be the first coaching stint for the former India lower-order batsman, who led Chhattisgarh in the Ranji Trophy in the 2016/17 season.
Kaif has previously played for Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab in the IPL. The 36-year-old has played 13 Tests and 125 one-day internationals for India.
