India under-19 were left on a shaky foundation as England under-19 declared on 501/5 on day two of the first Youth Test against India in Nagpur on Wednesday.
Max Holden and George Bartlett built on their overnight centuries to push England to a commanding total as India’s bowlers struggled to get breakthroughs for the second straight day.
Holden and Bartlett fell for 170 and 179 respectively. Delray Rawlins also chipped in with a quick-fire 70 to take the score past the 500-run mark.
In reply, India got off to a shaky start as opener Rohan Kunnummal fell for 13 with the score on 23. His opening partner Abhishek Goswami stabalised the Indian innings with a fighting half-century. He shared a fine stand with Saurabh Singh (53*). Goswami however, fell for 66 with the duo three runs short for completing a 100-run stand. At stumps, India were 156/2.
