Eastern Sporting Union were crowned champions of the inaugural Indian Women’s League following a convincing 3-0 win over Rising Student’s Club in the final at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Kamala Devi was the star of the show with two goals. Prameshwori Devi also got her name on the scoresheet as Eastern Sporting dominated proceedings.
Eastern Sporting took the lead in the 32nd minute, as Kamala Devi tapped home from a Prameshowri cross. Prameshwori scored one of her own in the 57th minute to double Eastern Sporting’s lead. Six minutes later, Kamala put the tie to bed with her second of the game.
Eastern Sporting could have added another through Moirangthem Mandakini Devi, but she missed from close range.
