They’ve played to a crowd of 250,000 people. Their music is a mix of pop, rock and Latin-pop, and their biggest hit was viewed 365,000 times on YouTube. They have worked with Grammy-nominated music producers such as Francisco Murias and Joe Martlet, who have been involved with bands like The Foo Fighters and Nirvana.
They are Sister Monica and Siervas, a band based in Lima, Peru, comprising 12 members, all of whom are nuns from the Servants of the Plan of God, a community founded in 1998.
In Feburaruy 2016, the nuns played for Pope Francis. The video above is of their biggest hit, Confia en Dios or Trust in God. The band toured through Chile, Ecuador, and Colombia in 2016, and are now busy recording an album.
