Goa Chief Electoral Officer Kunal on Tuesday said the Election Commission will monitor all poll rallies, flying squads and polling stations in the state through live-streaming and web casting, PTI reported. The official said the February 4 elections in the state’s 40 constituencies will be monitored at the chief electoral office as well as at the offices of Goa’s two district magistrates.
“Live-streaming is possible as Goa has good connectivity and the necessary infrastructure is in place. There were initial hitches, but the live-streaming started functioning on Monday,” he said. The chief electoral officer said the initiative would replace the usual videography used to document the election process.
With a dedicated server to ensure smooth functioning, Kunal told the news agency that officers monitoring the election can view the process on a video wall installed at the offices as well as on their laptops.
