India will end 2016 as the No.1 Test side following their emphatic 4-0 series win over England, PTI reported. India, who clinched the series with an innings-and-75-run victory in Chennai on Tuesday, pocketed five points to move to 120 in the last Test team rankings. India are now 15 points ahead of second-placed Australia.
England, which had started the series in second spot, slipped to fifth position with 101 points. They trail Pakistan and South Africa, who are both on 102 points each with Misbah-ul-Haq’s men ranked third on decimal points.
