Noted environmentalist and journalist Anupam Mishra died in Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Monday, after a year-long battle with prostate cancer. He was 68.
The 1996 winner of the Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar, Mishra advocated water conservation, for which he travelled to villages across the country to create awareness about the advantages of water harvesting. Aaj Bhi Khare Hain Talaab and Rajasthan Ki Rajat Boondein are among his best known books on the subject.
