India’s junior women’s team thrashed Chinese Taipei 4-0 at the Women’s Under-18 Asia Cup hockey tournament in Bangkok on Friday, PTI reported.
Sangita Kumari was the star of the show, scoring three goals to earn India the comfortable win.
India opened the scoring through Leelavathy Mallamada Jaya in the second minute of the game.
They doubled the lead in the 37th minute through Sangita. She scored again eight minutes later with an assist from Jaya.
Sangita completed her hat-trick with a successful Penalty Corner conversion in the 65th minute to give India a comfortable win.
