Manjit of Army Marksmanship Unit, stunned star Olympian Jitu Rai in the final of the men’s 50m Pistol event at the ongoing 60th National Shooting Championship Competitions on Wednesday.
Manjit shot 187.4 in the 20-shot Final to claim victory at the Balewadi shooting range at Pune.
Jitu fell short with 185.7 in the final and had to settle for silver. Navy’s Omkar Singh won bronze with a score of 164.8.
In the team event, Manjit, Jitu and Om combined to clinch gold with a total of 1642. The Air Force Team won Silver with 1636 while Maharashtra won bronze for their combined total of 1606.
