Six-year old Murtaza Ahmadi’s dream of meeting his football hero Lionel Messi has finally come true.
In 2016, Ahmadi turned into an internet sensation after a photograph of him wearing a Messi “jersey” made out of a plastic bag went viral. On Tuesday, the youngster finally met his idol.
Messi, who is travelling with Barcelona in Doha to play a friendly against Saudi champions Al Ahli, met Ahmadi and will also walk out on to the pitch with the boy.
Hailing from the eastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan, was forced to flee the country to Pakistan in May.
Earlier in February, Messi had sent him a signed jersey in February and had expressed his desire to meet the young fan.
