Indian captain Virat Kohli rose one spot to a career-best second position among Test batsmen in the latest International Cricket Council player rankings issued on Tuesday, PTI reported.
Kohli scored a match-winning 235 against England in the just-concluded fourth Test in Mumbai, his highest score in Tests.
Kohli is currently ranked second in the One-Day International Player Rankings and first in Twenty20 Internationals. He trails Australia captain Steve Smith by 11 points.
Meanwhile, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin consolidated his number one spot among bowlers after his match haul of 12/167 in Mumbai. Ashwin has a 37-point lead over second-placed Rangana Herath of Sri Lanka. He also tops the all-rounders’ list.
In Test team rankings, India remain on top with 115 points, followed by England (105) and Australia (105).
