Parupalli Kashyap progressed to the round of 16 at the Korea Masters Grand Prix Gold after defeating fourth seed Wang Tzu Wei 21-15, 9-21, 21-19 in Seogwipo on Wednesday.
Kashyap looked in solid form in the opening game. He dominated his opponent with a brisk start. Wei though showed some fight towards the end, but Kashyap closed out the game.
Wei came strongly in the second, outplaying the Indian convincingly.
The last game saw the two vie fiercely for the advantage. The game went down to the wire with Kashyap just about edging out his Taiwanese opponent to claim victory.
