Always found physics difficult in school? There’s a science video that seems inspired by the famous lines from the William Blake poem, “To see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wild flower.” The video above uses a shot of espresso to illuminate hard science concepts.
Created by French filmmaker Charlotte Arene in collaboration with the University of Paris-Sud’s Laboratory of Solid State Physics, Physics & Caffeine explains how heat, thermodynamics, special relativity, Newtonian physics, quantum mechanics are linked to the several tiny processes at work in your morning cup of coffee. Key questions you will find answers to: what is white, why does the coffee get cooler when you blow into it, and why your coffee stays inside that cup in the first place.
Three months went into making the stop-motion video which used 5,000 images.
