Saina Nehwal came from a game down to beat Indonesia’s Dinar Dyah Ayustine 17-21, 21-18, 21-12 to enter the quarter-finals of the Macau Open on Thursday.
After losing the first game, Nehwal clawed her way back in a tense second game. With both players level at 18 all, Nehwal won three straight points to send the tie into the decider.
Nehwal, who had come back from similar fashion in the first round on Wednesday, looked sharper in the third and made the Indonesian fight for her points. She ran away with the game at the change of ends, securing the win comfortably.
