India’s Saina Nehwal came from a game down to beat Hanna Ramadini 21-23, 21-14, 21-18 to reach the second round of the Macau Open on Wednesday.
The first game saw both players fight tooth and nail, which eventually led to a tense finish to the game. Nehwal though blinked first as Ramadini took the opening game.
In the second game, Nehwal seemed to have learnt from her mistakes and gave little room for Ramadini to work with. The Indian closed out the game swiftly.
Nehwal maintained her momentum in the third game as well and took a sizeable lead early on. Ramdini, though, fought back as the game progressed to come within two points of Nehwal as she served for the match. Nehwal kept her cool and clinched victory to advance.
