Indian shuttler Sameer Verma lost to NG Ka Long Angus in the Hong Kong Open final on Sunday. Verma was beaten 21-14, 10-21, 21-11. Verma had beaten World No. 3 Jan O’Jorgensen of Denmark 21-19, 24-22 in the semi-final.
In the first game, nerves seemed to get to Verma as he lost 21-14. However, Verma regained his calm and staged an inspiring comeback to win the second game 10-21. However, Long upped the ante and outclassed Verma in the third game 21-11.
