Indian opener KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya were released from the Test squad owing to their injuries on Sunday.
Rahul, injured his left forearm in the ongoing Mohali Test, is expected to be fit in time for the fourth Test against England in Mumbai on December 8.
Pandya hurt his right shoulder while training at the PCA Stadium and was released for recovery. The BCCI’s medical staff have advised him to “consult a specialist to decide the future course of action”. No replacements were named by the Indian cricket board. Pandya was hoping for a Test debut but will have to wait for his next chance.
