India’s PV Sindhu lost the final of the Hong Kong Open badminton tournament to third seed, Taiwan’s Tai Tzu-Ying, on Sunday. The 21-year-old, who won the China Open last week, went down 21-15, 21-17 in a match that lasted 41 minutes.
The first game saw Sindhu losing early points owing to unforced errors, which Tai capitalised on by dominating the entire court. Sindhu made a strong comeback in the second game, but still failed to outclass Tai, who went on to win the game 21-17 and with it, the match and tournament.
