There has been a stream of songs hailing demonetisation or wailing about it – from Bhojpuri to Punjabi to Telugu. Even Sonu Nigam has not missed the opportunity of voicing his opinion.
But there’s one particular song set to a Bollywood tune which has impressed Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal so much that he has named it the “Anthem of Demonetisation”.
The song Ye line me khada hai tu jo aajkal draws a satirical contrast between the rich and the poor. It’s set to the tune of the Bollywood classic Jeena isi ka naam hai.
The song also makes a reference to another classic Bollywood song, Baagon mein bahar hai to state that there’s spring in the administrator’s garden while there’s chaos in his backyard.
