India’s PV Sindhu beat Yulia Yosephin Susanto of Indonesia 21-13, 21-16 to enter the second round of Hong Kong Open.
Sindhu, who recently clinched her maiden super series title at the China Open is looking to add another feather to her cap at Hong Kong. The Olympic silver medallist, was in sublime form in her opening tie on Wednesday.
She finished off the match in straight games, showing little discomfort against the Indonesian. Her competitor offered some resistance in the second game with longer rallies, but the Indian up for the challenge and thwarted any chance of a comeback from Susanto.
Earlier, Indian compatriot, Saina Nehwal had to come from a game down to beat Thailand’s Porntip Buranaprasertsuk 12-21, 21-19, 21-17.
