After the hullabaloo that ensued after South African skipper Faf du Plessis was charged for ball tampering, footage has surfaced of the Indian Test captain Virat Kohli allegedly doing the same. Du Plessis was found guilty of using an artificial substance on the ball to shine it. The video of Kohli trying to do the same is from the second innings of the first India-England Test, which was played in Rajkot.
Kohli is seen touching an artificial substance in his mouth, most likely to be chewing gum, before rubbing the ball, which was the reason why Du Plessis was charged by the International Cricket Council. The South African escaped a match ban, but was fined 100% of his fees for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the second Australia-South Africa Test in Hobart. South Africa romped to an innings victory in the match.
